About Us

Ah, where to begin? Perhaps in 1950, when William V. and Jessie A. Baum first set up shop in a small office on Sherwood Avenue in Pikesville, Maryland. Two short years later they moved to a 2 story converted house on Belvedere Avenue in Baltimore City. This location allowed them to begin fabricating traffic signs, faces and decals. Five years later, the company moved into a 4,500 s.f. building on Fairlawn Avenue in the Pimlico area of Baltimore. This is about the time that ShannonBaum entered into a contract to silk screen license plates (and hand apply vanity tags) for the State of Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles, a contract that lasted over 17 years!

In 1974 Shannon-Baum was on the move again, this time just a few blocks away to Aquarium Place. a 10,000 s.f. building and we remained in that building for 14 years. In 1988 we grew again and made the move to a 34,000 s.f. building in Eldersburg, where we are still located today. This location houses a state of the art production facility which includes graphic designers, a digital print shop, screen print shop, fabrication shop, and a custom painting shop. We have a custom paint booth and offer sandblasted signs. L.E.D. electronic signage, vehicle wraps, window tinting and imprinted apparel along with tradeshow and event products.

Still owned and operated by the Baum family, we are in our 3rd generation here. We are inspired each day by our creative and inspiring team to build and live our dream of being a premier sign manufacturer in the industry.
